Your First Visit

Welcome to Johnson Chiropractic! Make Yourself at Home!

New patient filling out paperwork

You will complete your new patient paperwork if you haven’t already done so at home.

When you first arrive at my office, you will be greeted at the front desk by a friendly staff member, or myself. I think, for anyone visiting a new doctor’s office for the first time, can be a little “nerve-racking”.

Maybe you are someone who knows nothing or very little about chiropractic, or has never been to a chiropractor before. It could be that, you have been to a certain chiropractor for years and are accustomed to the way he/she treated you, but now you have to find a different practitioner…because he/she retired or moved away. Do you feel comfortable with, and trust the doctor and his staff? Is the doctor’s office new, in a good and convenient location, and is it clean? Is the doctor and his staff friendly and competent? Does he have the latest technologies to treat my condition effectively? These are, all, valid concerns that can cross our minds…before, during and after choosing a new chiropractic physician’s office.

We Explain Everything First

As a new patient, you will be asked to fill out some initial paperwork about yourself…answering questions about your condition(s) for me. Please be prepared to present us with your driver’s license and insurance card….for verifying your identity and insurance benefits, while you are working on your paperwork. After you have completed the paperwork and we have verified your insurance benefits, you will be taken to the exam room. It is here, where I take a thorough past case history (chiropractic consultation) of your health and specific or chief complaint(s).

A staff member or myself will go over your chiropractic insurance benefits with you, so you will know what costs will be involved for the first visit….before we proceed with anything else. Once you have indicated that you would like to continue and we are in agreement to proceed further, I will perform a physical examination that is specific for your condition(s). Secondly, we will continue with x-rays (in our office) to better diagnose your condition(s). After we finish taking the x-rays, you will be taken to our therapy room, where we will start you on some initial physiotherapy….to help alleviate your symptoms.

The whole process during the first visit takes 45-60 minutes, usually depending upon how extensive your condition is. Take a look to see what to expect during your second visit.
